About this Event

SUMS CHANGE MANAGEMENT COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE

Theme – 'Embedding Culture Change during times of uncertainty'

In these times of unprecedented change and uncertainty, our sector faces significant challenges that test our resilience, adaptability, and core values.

At our next in-person session we are bringing together change management and organisational design leads/practitioners from across the sector to explore how we can maintain purpose, psychological safety, and positive leadership during these turbulent times.

Hosted by the University of Leeds - with a great line-up of speakers from the University, and drawing from the University’s innovative Change Leadership programme and Employee Engagement research, we will explore how universities can emerge stronger, more connected, and more resilient following a period of extensive change or “transformation”.

Join senior leaders, operational leads and change practitioners from across the University as they share real-world examples, lessons learned and actionable insights on delivering cultural and systems change.

With a formal agenda to follow at the beginning of June, you can expect interactive workshops, inspiring leadership perspectives, and practical strategies for embedding a culture of support and innovation.

Confirmed speakers -

Keynote speakers are a collaboration from across the University’s People & Culture Directorate:

· Louise Kindon - Chief People & Culture Officer

· Briony Sutcliffe – Director of People, Change and Engagement and Jenny Baynes – Director of the Transformation Office

Guest speakers from across the University:

· Neil Smith – Deputy Director of the Transformation Office

· Ian Connerton – Programme Director Transformation Office

· Rachel McConville-Darwin – Head of Admissions

· Sarah Mulholland - Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Student Education

· Professor Sheng Dai – Head of School of Chemical & Process Engineering

· Andrew Akal – People & Change Partner.

Speakers will share their lived experience from recent change programmes - including practical challenges, what went wrong, and what worked.

For the first time, our in-person session will include dedicated time for live reflections and emerging themes as we go through the day. Through the use of a ‘padlet’ to capture thoughts following each session, we will record insights that will feed into creating robust post-event takeaways for individuals and institutions.

As always, networking and informal engagement opportunities are included so that attendees can connect and continue conversations.
