Sumpin Doo is a band playing the blues, R&B, and a little bit of Soul music. With members from the Central Iowa Blues Association and the Iowa Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Sumpin Doo shows that it’s certainly been playing music for a long time.The Davis brothers, Gil and George are the mainstay of the band, with Jim Parker and Bob Lasnek rounding out the band. The total amount of combined years of playing music is easily over 200 years.
Being the last band for this year’s Music in the Junction is always an honor. We all have fond memories of playing in the Junction over the years. This year we will be joined by Doug Johnson as a special guest. Doug is an original member of Sumpin Doo and played numerous years with the best Des Moines area musicians. He brings an incredible amount of energy, talent, and musicianship to the stage. Doug now lives in San Antonio Texas, but is coming home to play for you.
So please come out and enjoy an evening of refreshments, food, friendships, dancing, and the music of Sumpin Doo.
Valley Junction is the place to be in Central Iowa on Thursday nights May through September. The beverage garden in Railroad Park opens at 5:00 with live music at 6:00 pm.
