Join us for the Inaugural Summerville Historic Homes & Gardens Tour on March 5–7, 2026! We are delighted to present the very first edition of this signature event, which we hope will become a cherished annual tradition. Step into the stories of Summerville’s past. Explore beautifully preserved homes, lush gardens, and architectural treasures that reflect the character and history of our community.

SALES POLICY & VISITOR GUIDE

Welcome to the inaugural Summerville Historic Homes & Gardens Tour, hosted by the
Summerville Museum and Research Center. This self-paced tour offers a rare opportunity to
step inside private historic residences and lush gardens throughout Summerville.
Your ticket purchase supports the museum’s preservation efforts and educational programs
through our largest annual fundraiser. Please read, save, or print this guide, as it contains
essential information about tickets, check-in, transportation, and event logistics.
TICKETING & SALES POLICY
- All sales are final and non-refundable. This is a fundraising event.
- Tickets must be purchased online at www.summervillemuseum.org.
- No same-day ticket sales will be available.
- Once tickets sell out, no additional tickets can be issued.
- A confirmation email will be sent upon purchase. Check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive it.
- Tours take place rain or shine.
- In the event of severe weather cancellation prior to the event, guests will be notified.
- All ticket purchases are considered donations and are tax-deductible.
- No physical tickets will be mailed.
- Your email confirmation serves as your ticket and must be presented at check-in.
CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS
- Location: Bethany Methodist Church, 118 W 3rd S St, Summerville, SC 29483
- Please arrive 10–15 minutes early for check-in.
- Guests will receive a wristband, brochure, and gift bag.
- Check-in takes place in the left-side parking lot.
- Ample parking is available with on-site attendants.
- Restrooms are available at the church only.
- There are no public restrooms at the tour homes.
TROLLEY TRANSPORTATION
- Trolley transportation is included with your ticket and provided by Lowcountry Trolley.
- The trolley runs continuously in a 20-minute loop.
- The ride is approximately three minutes each way.
- Please return to the trolley stop if you need restroom access or to retrieve your vehicle.
TOUR GUIDELINES
- Home addresses will not be released in advance.
- Addresses will be provided in the event brochure at check-in.
- Tour hours are Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
- This is a self-paced walking tour of five private homes within one mile.
- Docents will be present at each home.
- Wear comfortable shoes and dress for outdoor conditions.
- Only small, capped water bottles are allowed between homes.
- Water bottles are not permitted inside residences.
- Large bags, strollers, walkers, canes, and pets are not permitted.
- Children under 12 are not permitted.
- Children 12 and older must have a ticket and be accompanied by an adult.
- Cell phone use during tours is discouraged.
- Private residences are not ADA accessible.
- Stairs may be required.
PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY
- Interior photography is not permitted inside private homes under South Carolina law.
- Garden photography is only permitted in clearly marked areas.
SPECIAL EVENTS
- Kickoff Garden Party on March 5.
- Address and details will be emailed one week prior.
- Check-in is required at the entrance.
- Historic Walking Tours on March 6–7.
- Tours depart from the Summerville Museum at 8:45 AM.
- Tours last approximately 45–60 minutes.
- Please arrive early for check-in.
PARKING INFORMATION
- Home tour parking is at Bethany Methodist Church, 118 W 3rd S St.
- Free parking is available with signage and staff assistance.
- Museum parking is available at 100 E Doty Ave.
- Free public parking is available nearby, including the garage on E. Richardson St.
