Summer's Eve Concert at Cardiff Castle

An evening of music, film, dance & poetry and a fire-eating, flame and pyrotechnic display!

The concert celebrates the theme of 'service' - of our armed forces and veterans, NHS workers and carers, and all who have supported us through the coronavirus pandemic.

During the evening:

A short film project, called: 'Veterans Stories', will be shown on big-screen. The film project relates the stories of some of our Welsh veterans and travelled all over Wales to capture their powerful, touching testimonies and memories of a life in serv from WWII to present day.

On stage, the Orchestra of the Swan will be playing live - a beautiful orchestral concert playing some well known classics and some of their own, moving pieces.

Also on stage will be one of our fantastic veterans, Maurillia Simpson, who will be singing (Wembley Stadium anthem singer/Songs of Praise), supported by Chris Hatt (musical director of Hamilton/Billy Elliot) and the wonderful Military Wives Choir.

There will also be some poetry readings and dance performance by veterans live to screen, accompanied by the orchestra

The evening will culminate with an exhilarating fire eating display from a Welsh veteran, supported with an amazing flame display and pyrotechnics to complete the perfect summer's eve on the lawns of the castle.
