Hacker Summer Camp kicks off right here in Brooklyn with Summercon 2026—a single-track, deeply technical, and extremely social hacker conference that’s been running since 1987.

What makes it special?

We are going to have PTSD about COVID for a long time. As a result, some of our community still take precautions seriously—and we respect that.

So, while NYC does not require masks or proof of vaccination, we encourage the following:

• Stay up to date on your COVID-19 and flu vaccines.
• Feel free to wear a high-quality mask (KN95, KF94, etc.).
• Stay home if you’re sick—our refund policy’s got your back.
• Wash your hands. Seriously.
• Be kind, be cool, and respect each other’s boundaries.
