About this Event
Participants will meet from June 24, 2026, through August 19, 2026, every Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, for guided learning, skill-building, and practical experience in a supportive community environment. This program is designed to help young people grow in confidence, responsibility, creativity, and real-world life skills through consistent weekly participation. Parents are welcome to stay.
Program Cost: Full 9-week program: $400 Drop-in option: $45 per class Drop-in spaces available: 6 per session
What will they learn?
Participants will build hands-on skills through a structured weekly curriculum. Depending on the lesson, students will learn:
- Kitchen safety, sanitation, and safe food handling
- How to read recipes and follow step-by-step instructions
- Measuring, prepping, and using kitchen tools correctly
- Teamwork, communication, and time management
- Confidence in preparing food independently
- Creativity, problem-solving, and pride in making something with their own hands
- A deeper understanding of food, nutrition, and cultural connection through cooking
