Join us for a weekend full of hiking, Bounce Houses, educational talks, free fitness, and more! Become acquainted with our free Summer Trekking program, enjoy nature, make new friends and connections.
Saturday:
9:00-11:00AM: FREE Morning Hike at Pine Mountain. Join Ridgefield Conservation member and Rotary's Citizen of the Year Pete Nichols for a moderate 3.5 mile hike in Pine Mountain. Experience great views, engage in wildlife and plant observations. Please wear appropriate hiking attire, bring water and light snack. Binoculars are optional. Meet at Pine Mountain parking lot on Pine Mountain Road.
12:00-4:00PM: FREE Summer Trekking Launch celebration at the Ridgefield Recreation Center (Bounce Houses, games, prizes, snacks): 195 Danbury Road, Ridgefield, CT
1:30-2:30PM: FREE Train for the Trail: Dynamic Warm-Up Demo. Join Coach Christian Oropeza for a dynamic fitness class that will teach you how to warm up for your hike. Participants will move through a metabolic routine designed to build endurance and keep your body safe and strong. Where: Volleyball Court Field, recommended ages 10 and up.
8:30-10:00PM: FREE Moths Hike at McKeon Farm with Ridgefield Conservation Commission and Woodcock Nature Center's Tommy McCarthy: McKeon Farm, Old Stagecoach Road. [GPS Address: 11 Old Stagecoach Road] or Lauzun Lane cul-de-sac. [GPS Address: 300 Lauzun Lane]
