ABOUT RENEE
Renee is a playful and energetic Lindy hop (and west coast swing) dancer, teacher, and competitor based in New Haven, CT. She was introduced to Lindy hop in 2014 at UCONN’s Swing and Blues club and became smitten with the joy of the dance and the seemingly magical ability to communicate, improvise, and create with another person purely through rhythm and movement. Ever since, Renee has been traveling across the US and abroad to train her dancing, develop her teaching, and grow her historical understanding of the dance. Her core dance values include rhythm, partnership, and play, which she tries to incorporate into her lessons starting on Day 1.
Renee has performed on several noteworthy stages, including Lincoln Center's Summer for the City, Gotham Jazz Festival, Uptown Jazz at The Museum of the City of New York, the Spring Hill Arts Gathering, and for several private events. Renee has also medaled at competitive events including the Canadian Swing Championships, LindyFest, and the International Lindy Hop Championships.
