JAMES MONTGOMERY one of New England's most exciting and durable performers brings his new project JAMES MONTGOMERY'S RHYTHM & BLUES REVUE to the outside stage at Kowloon as part of the Summer Sun-Days Veterans Benefit Concert series. Joining Montgomery will be Christine Ohlman the "Beehive Queen" and featured vocalist of the Saturday Night Live show along with Barrence Whitfield, frontman of Barrence Whitfield & the Savages.

This event is a benefit concert, so come along and show your support for a good cause while enjoying some great music. So, gather your friends and family and spend a fun-filled afternoon with us.

James was, and remains, a one-man dervish capable of grabbing an audience, controlling it and giving it a night to remember.

Montgomery came to town, from his home in Michigan, to get an education and play a little music. He presented a fresh image, a powerful sound, great backing musicians and a “party ‘til you drop” stage persona.

Though some contemporaries have long ago broken up, been inducted into, or nominated for the Rock and Roll HOF, James continues to be right where he belongs and relishes in it. Montgomery will never be noted as a trendy musician, but one who developed a style and has ridden it for over 50 years to a wonderful career. Even those contemporaries who retired or became part of Boston’s legendary rock royalty come running for a chance to share the stage with James.

CHRISTINE OHLMAN "The Beehive Queen" is the current, long-time vocalist with the Saturday Night Live Band whose sixth critically acclaimed CD with Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez, The Deep End, was honored on national end-of-year Top Ten lists.

Her numerous collaborations encompass Grammy-nominated recordings and include duets with Dion, Ian Hunter, Marshall Crenshaw, Bonnie Bramlett, Levon Helm, Charlie Musselwhite, plus on-stage appearances with Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Brian Wilson, Steve Miller, Graham Nash, George Harrison, and Al Green. She is a featured guest on legendary Rolling Stones producer Andrew Loog Oldham’s historic ALO Orchestra Volume II.

Soul and R&B vocalist, BARRENCE WHITFIELD, best known as the frontman for Barrence Whitfield & the Savages, described as "a soul screamer in the spirit of Little Richard and Wilson Pickett" at Boston University where his singing was heard by musician Peter Greenberg of The Lyres began performing with Greenberg and members of his band as Barrence Whitfield & the Savages.

Their music heard by English DJ Andy Kershaw, who brought them to the UK for a tour. He's toured widely in Europe and won supporting slots on US tours with artists such as Bo Diddley, Tina Turner, George Thorogood, Robert Cray, and Solomon Burke. Back home Whitfield earned seven Boston Music Awards.

Continuing to perform in the UK and Europe, Whitfield just completed an extended 2023 tour of Europe.
