A full-length string orchestra concert presented as part of the Summer Strings Festival, organized by Musicfor Americas. The performance will feature Quartet-tOrfeo of Rome. The orchestra, many of whom are from Eastern Europe and South America, will be conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Turchi-Floris (Italy).
Under his leadership, the Musicfor Americas String Orchestra and the Quartet-tOrfeo as the Festival’s guest artists ensemble; Charlotte Orcel, Barbara Kammer, Adele Napoli and Ilaria Altan Calabrò – will appear as soloists with the orchestra and will also present several quartet concerts during the festival.
Highlights include music of Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Barber, Dvořák’s “Serenade for Strings” and the poetic beauty of Saint-Saëns’ “The Swan”. As a composer, Turchi Floris also presents his Tempo di Concerto for piano and strings, leading the ensemble directly from the keyboard in a vivid dialogue of rhythms and virtuosity.
This concert will be part of the 2026 Concert Series being organized as part of community outreach, in furtherance of the UUFBR goal to become a community center for events and activities that enlarge our presence in the community.
