About Matt Cox

Since 2003 singer/songwriter Matt Cox has been recording and performing across the United States both as a solo artist and with an ever-changing lineup of the area’s top talent. The Shenandoah IA native (childhood home of the Everly Brothers) blends traditions of country rock folk blues Tex-Mex gospel and soul relying heavily on his own catalog of material and signature road-worn vocals guitar and harmonica. Cox who currently calls Omaha NE home forged the dynamic five-piece ensemble known as The Maruaders in 2020; an all-star lineup featuring local legends Colin Duckworth (pedal steel and electric guitars) Kevin Lloyd (accordion keys) Craig Balderston (bass vocals) and Jarron Storm (drums vocals). An eight-time Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award winner for Best Blues (2008) Best Country/Americana (2009-2014) Album of the Year High Places (2018) and Outstanding Americana/Folk (2021).
