Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of some of Southern California’s most eclectic artists and join us this June and July for our FREE all-ages Summer Sounds concert series on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza! From salsa to soul, and everything in between, our lineup promises a musical journey that caters to every taste. Bring your friends and family for an electrifying evening of live performances under the starlit sky!Segerstrom Center is proud to celebrate Black Music Month this June, with a focus on amplifying Black voices, musical origins, and influence. This series will highlight Black artists and creatives over the course of several exciting programs including live performances, Tuesday Night Dance classes, and more!
About the Artist
Boogaloo Assassins are a Southern Californian-based 12-piece orquesta specializing in original Latin boogaloo, salsa, and Latin soul. A Los Angeles institution, Boogaloo Assassins’ debut record Old Love Dies Hard celebrated its 10-year anniversary re- release on Nu-Tone Recordings in 2023. Guaranteed to keep dancefloors full, Boogaloo Assassins hit single 7-inch record “No No No” has led them to entertain thousands of Latin music fans throughout California, in New York City, and to modern Salsa music’s home - Bogota and Cali, Colombia.
Boogaloo is a genre of Latin music and dance that originated in 1960s New York City developed by and for Black and brown communities.
