Summer SEL Institute - Chicago, IL

IFSEL's Institutes build on evidence-based SEL practices and foster collaboration, reflection, and renewal.

The Institute provides participants with inspiration and current research as well as experiential lesson materials. Throughout our time together, IFSEL’s facilitators will demonstrate a unique take on ten distinct educator practices that expand social and emotional learning, inclusivity, and well-being.

Our SEL Institutes:

• Share core principles and practices for equity-rooted SEL in K-12 schools
• Offer experiential practices that spark creativity and renew inspiration for teaching
• Help educators cultivate their teaching practices so that a strong sense of humanity and empathy inspires their students to evolve into compassionate leaders and resilient learners
• Provide a space for educators to reconnect with joy and purpose through reflection, play and engagement with peers
• Explore skills, mindsets and heartsets to nurture community-wide SEL
• Strengthen the capacity of educators to bring SEL to classrooms, curricula, and systems to transform schools into more inclusive and caring communities

CEU Information

Participants at our Summer Institute professional development programs are eligible for 2.0 CEU credits from Dominican University. More information about credits will be shared at the start of the course.

If you are interested in applying, please let us know after the course is complete. The application will then be sent to you to submit to Dominican University, which administers the process.

* Please note that Dominican University charges a fee of $55 per CEU unit. At this time, IFSEL is not able to provide credits for clinical counseling.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees will be refunded at 50% of the registration ticket price paid, less the $50 refund processing cost, if requested in writing more than two-weeks prior to the start of the course. From two weeks prior to the start of the course until the day before the course begins, refunds requested in writing will be granted a credit for the full value of their registration ticket price. No refunds or credits are available on or after the start date of the course. If you are utilizing the presale event code, registration is non-refundable.
