Join us for an unforgettable weekend of movement, rhythm, creativity, and community! Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a curious beginner, Shimmy School Summer School has something for everyone. Pick and choose your favourite workshops or dive into a full day of dance and discovery.
Saturday 16th August – Technique & Fusion Day
🌸11am – Mejance – Start your day with a dynamic, powerful entrance choreography.
🌸12:15pm – Ballet for Bellydancers – Improve posture, poise and grace tailored for bellydance movement.
🌸1:30pm – Map of Bellydance Lecture – A fascinating journey through the styles, regions, and cultural roots of bellydance.
🌸2:45pm – Cha-Cha/Bellydance Fusion Choreo – Sassy, syncopated fun blending Latin flair with Middle Eastern movement.
🌸4pm – Arabic Rhythms Through Tap – Feel the beat under your feet and understand bellydance rhythms in a brand-new way!
Plus: Evening Social/Meal – unwind and connect with fellow dancers over food and fun!
Sunday 17th August – Creativity & Self-Care Day
🌸11am – Drum Solo Choreo – Sharpen your isolations and pop with precision in this energising piece.
🌸12:15pm – Fancy Footwork – Samba Style – Add some spice and speed to your dance with samba-inspired steps.
🌸1:30pm – Get Crafty – Create your own pair of earrings or bracelet to add sparkle to your costume or everyday wear.
🌸2:45pm – Twerk Factory – Build strength and confidence with this fun, empowering booty-shaking session!
🌸4pm – Dancers Summer Self-Care – Take a breath and refocus with practical tools for wellness, recovery, and joy.
