About the Film
Released in 2017 by Red Bull Media House, Blood Road follows ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
Their mission is deeply personal: to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca's father, a U.S. Air Force pilot who was shot down over Laos during the Vietnam War more than 40 years earlier. Along the way, the two women push their physical and emotional limits while exploring the complex history of the region and discovering how the war shaped their lives in profoundly different ways.
