Summer Medicine Walk – Season of the Wild Strawberry | Richmond Hill
About this Event
The land is our first teacher.
Join the Odeiwin Foundation for our Summer Medicine Walk, a guided land-based learning experience centered on the teachings of the Strawberry and the responsibilities that come with living in right relationship with the land.
In many Indigenous traditions, the Strawberry carries heart teachings. It reminds us of love, kindness, reciprocity, and the importance of giving before taking. During this season of abundance, we are invited to reflect on how these teachings guide our relationships with one another, our communities, and the natural world.
Together, we will explore:
🍓 Strawberry Teachings and heart medicine
🌿 Seasonal plant medicines and observations
🤝 Reciprocity and living in right relationship
☀️ The season of growth, abundance, and gratitude
While we may observe seasonal plants during our walk, this gathering is centered on the teachings they carry rather than the expectation of finding or harvesting specific medicines.
This is not a recreational hike. It is a guided, teaching-based experience rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems, relational accountability, and respect for the land.
All Four Directions Welcome.
Families are welcome.
Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members are invited to learn together in a good way.
Space is limited to help create a respectful and meaningful learning environment.
