About this Event
Join Palm Beach State College in partnership with NearSpace for a 1-week "balloon" build and launch.
MONDAY DESIGN
Students will be presented with a series of challenges and apply the Engineering Design process to create a mission plan and experiments.
TUESDAY BUILD
Students will work in teams to construct and program a prototype for the mission payload.
WEDNESDAY LAUNCH (Each week, the students will travel to Badcock Ranch in Punta Gorda)
Students will be transported to Babcock Ranch via bus, where the payload will be mounted on a high-altitude research balloon and fly to the edge of space -- 80,000 ft.
THURSDAY LEARN
Students will analyze their prototype, videos, and other data from the recovered payload to
assess mission success and discuss results.
