MUHL2310 The History of Rock and Roll online takes an in-depth look at Rock and Roll from its early 20th-century origins in Blues and Country to Punk Rock in the mid-1970s.
In this course, students will be encouraged to explore the continuity of Rock & Roll's history, the social and cultural factors that gave rise to it, and which in turn responded to it, and its important figures, style characteristics, and periods.
Together we will develop listening tools and analytical skills which will enrich our understanding of Rock & Roll's construction and its social and cultural roles in the first 30 years of its development.
*This course satisfies three hours of the Visual and Performing Arts requirement in the Core Curriculum.*
