About this Event

Date: Saturday, July 27

From: 11am-3pm

Where: First Landing (exact info to be sent closer to the date)

Tiered Pricing: $40

Grab your sack lunch and get ready for the Summer Gay Camp of your dreams. Join be queer now for a lavish day filled with gaiety, laughter, and community. We’ll weave together yoga practices (like meditation, movement, and breath) with classic Summer Camp activities (like art, games, and story time.) Bring your inner child out to play and find nourishment alongside your fellow queers.

We’ll spend the day in our own world, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors.

As we engage in play, we’ll teach our nervous systems that we can orient towards safety, creativity, and growth. As we reconnect to nature, we’ll remember our place in the world. And as we practice all of this in queer community, we’ll strengthen our collective power and pleasure.

Bring a yoga mat, lunch, water, and curiosity. Summer Gay Camp, here we come!

Your Guides:

Alishiya (she/they) is a Dominican and Indian American queer human. She is the Co-executive Director of a Social Circus, Wise Fool New Mexico, and the co-organizer of a queer yoga community, Be Queer Now. After having unfulfilling experiences with the westernization of yoga, alishiya began consciously centering South Asian voices in yoga communities. During their personal time they love practicing yoga in reverence of their culture and ancestors. alishiya feels passionately about honoring the roots of yoga, believing it to be essential in preserving its authenticity. In their teachings and practices, alishiya invites others to explore yoga as a tool for liberation, honoring the wisdom of our bodies, and reconnecting with the authentic self. They strive for a more inclusive and reflective practice where others can slow down, breathe, and simply exist.

Ce’Ara Cannon (she/her) is a Black, Queer, neurodivergent wellness practitioner and Clinical Social Worker. With a commitment to liberatory practices, Ce’Ara strives to create inclusive and accessible spaces for the Queer and BIPOC community. Drawing from more than a decade of experience in the mental health field, she prioritizes care and empowerment, enabling individuals to explore and define their own paths to liberation and well-being.
