SUMMER FEST- Social Choreography Lab Helsinki Join us to greet summer and support free grassroots spaces with the community of the Social Choreography Lab Helsinki ?
The Summer Fest is free and open to everyone, people who have been part of the Lab in the past years, and all our friends, so don't hesitate to bring more people with you. ✨ ✨✨
We will keep the grill warm starting from 13h. There will be some non-alcoholic drinks, finger-food and a few things for the grill to share (vegan and non-vegan), but you are invited to use the grill to prepare your own food as well. Käpylän Kiska will sell their selection of drinks, snacks and ice-cream throughout the day.
There will be mini-workshops and music, finishing off with a piñata ??

17:30 Breaking the piñata together! (all ages)
18:00 Celebration finishes, but everyone is invited to stay for live music arranged by Käpylän Kiska starting at 19:00

WORKSHOPS INFO
*Stick'n'poke tattoos with Emma Hovi
Emma is one of the organizers of Social Choreography Lab Helsinki and has made multiple stick'n'poke tattoos for friends. She will guide you through the whole process. You are welcome to bring/draw your own designs on the spot, Emma will also prepare a flash sheet with simple designs that are free to use. All materials provided: needles, black and red ink, disinfectant etc. Age limit 18 years!
*Intro to antifascist self-defence with Meidän Sali
Welcome to a self-defence workshop organized by the voluntary sports space collective Meidän Sali! We will wake up our inner ninjas and get to know what physical self-defence can mean to us. We will focus on simple self-defence techniques through playful exercises that can be modified to suit everyone. Everyone is welcome, disregarding previous experience. Feel free to wear your everyday clothes.
Meidän Sali is a body-positive and non-commercial sports facility that operates on the principles of safer spaces. Together with Iso Tila project, Meidän Sali is aiming to create non-commercial community spaces in Helsinki.
*Facemasks with Jordy Valderrama & Clara Petrozzi
Masks are a magical thing that transforms the person into a different character. It could be an animal, an angel, a God or anything you can imagine. In this workshop, you will find an opportunity to make your own mask.
Jordy Valderrama is formed as a mime, actor, dancer, and puppeteer. Clara Petrozzi is a viola and violin player, composer and musicologist. Both born in Lima, Peru, Jordy and Clara currently live in Vantaa. They teach music, mime, acrobatics, juggling, dance, and clowning in various schools in the Metropolitan region.
*Intro to juggling
We will learn the basics of juggling clubs with a special international guest.
