About this Event
Title: Summer Fermentation Workshop – Elderflower & Summer Sauerkraut
Date & Time: Sunday, 22nd June | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: The Sound Lounge, Sutton – a lovely plant-based venue
Description:
Following the success of our Gut Feeling Festival, the Green Nut Community Cultures Club is back at The Sound Lounge to celebrate summer fermentation!
Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll work with the best of the season—creating a light, naturally sparkling elderflower fermented drink and a fresh summer sauerkraut using vibrant seasonal vegetables.
Why Fermentation?
Fermentation is a natural process that supports gut health, digestion, and immunity by introducing beneficial bacteria into your diet. During summer, warmer temperatures help ferments develop more quickly, making it the perfect time to start. It’s also a great way to preserve seasonal produce and enjoy it for longer.
What You’ll Do:
- Make your own elderflower fermented drink
- Create a summer-style sauerkraut
- Learn simple, practical fermentation techniques
- Taste and explore the flavours of live cultures
You’ll leave with the confidence to continue fermenting at home—and jars full of your own creations.
Duration: 2 hours
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Bring: A jar to take your ferments home
See you there! 🌿
