Kids in grades one through six are invited to join us this summer for four interactive and creative weeks of exploring the origins, meanings, and heritage of some of Ridgefield's street names.
Summer Enrichment @ Keeler makes local history fun and accessible for young people through place-based education. Kids will have the opportunity to learn about the stories behind places like King Lane, Ramapoo Road, and Saw Mill Road.
Set outdoors on our four-acre historic grounds, museum staff have tailored their specialty summer programming to give children a safe space for fun and educational summer activities. The half-day programs are intentionally small, with a maximum of ten children per week, in order to adhere to COVID guidelines and ensure our participants benefit from relationship-building and individualized attention. All staff will be fully vaccinated.
The one-week programs will run Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a required health screening and temperature check each day between 8:30 and 9 a.m. Outdoor activities will take place on the lawn and on the tented terrace. In the event of rain, activities may also be held in the Carriage Barn. KTM&HC follows state and local health guidelines, and social distancing, masking, and sanitizing will be practiced at all times.
Sessions will be held on the following dates:
Week 1: July 12-16 (Grades 1-3)
Week 2: July 19-23 (Grades 4-6)
Week 3: July 26-30 (Grades 1-3)
Week 4: August 2-6 (Grades 4-6)
The cost to register for one week is $180 for members and $200 for non-members. Sibling discounts are available.
