We kick off the 6th annual summer concert series with Irish traditional music featuring teams from this year’s Southern New England Apprenticeship Program.
This concert will take place on the beautiful CHS lawn. Grounds are open for seating and picnicking from 5 PM, and music is from 6PM – 7PM. All of the CHS outdoor concerts are free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and food, and a food truck will be available onsite. In case of rain, the concerts will move indoors to our auditorium.
These concerts will also be live streamed, more information to come.
The concert series is generously supported by the Evelyn W. Preston Memorial Trust Fund, Bank of America N.A., Trustee, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the CT Office of the Arts/DECD.
________________________________
At this concert, we will feature Irish music mentors of fiddle music, Uillean pipes, and Celtic harp along with their apprentices. These exceptional New England artists actively support the vitality of traditional Irish musical arts in their home and regional communities. By showcasing their individual talents as well as their combined musical abilities, this concert will provide audiences with a special treat into the diversity of Irish musical culture in the region.
Featured artists include:
Patrick Hutchinson & Eva Meier, Uilleann pipes
Dan Foster & Carol Colvin, fiddle
Mary King, Celtic harp
