Bring the family to The Grand Oshkosh on July 24. This performance is aimed at children of all ages; featuring the annual children’s conducting ‘competition’. One contestant will be awarded the opportunity to conduct the band in playing “Our Director” march. P.D.Q. Bach’s March of the Cute Little Wood Sprites will be played along with Animation, a score to an imaginary cartoon written as a tribute to Warner Brothers Looney Tunes scores by Carl Stalling as written by Randall Strawdridge. This is an encore performance from our Spring Concert.
Marches, patriotic and popular songs will also be sprinkled into each summer performance. Join us for four spectacular Wednesday evenings, where you can unwind in the soothing, air-conditioned theaters. It's the perfect summer treat! Each concert lasts about an hour. The band is under the direction of David Berndt.
The OACB Jazz Ensemble will offer a bonus concert on Monday, July 29 at 7 p.m. at the Lake Shore Park Pavilion at 1875 Punhoqua Street, Oshkosh, WI. Under the direction of Jon Basten the band will play many jazz standards and dance tunes.
