Join us at Red Mountain Kitchen for an exciting opportunity to preserve the bounty of summer! These in-person classes will guide you through the art of canning, helping you capture the vibrant flavors of the season to enjoy all year long.

  • Canning 101 - Learn the basics of waterbath canning to preserve jams, salsas, pickles, and fruits safely.
  • Jams and jellies - Learn about different types of pectins, fruit preparation, as well as full sugar, low sugar, and no sugar options.
  • Salsas and pickles - Learn about proper acidification, heat penetration, and ingredient swaps to yield a safe product.
  • Don't miss this chance to learn valuable skills and celebrate the joys of summer harvest preservation in a fun and welcoming environment!
  • Your instructor is Diana Knoll, a former WSU Master Food Preserver with 17 years of experience. Diana is passionate about sharing the importance of safety and the art of home food preservation.
