Summer Break Art Camp, Ages 4-11

Welcome to Small Steps Art Studio! Our mission is to guide children in building a strong foundation of artistic skills and understanding. By exploring tools and materials, kids develop the confidence, curiosity, and creativity needed to bring their ideas to life. Through the use of resourced and recycled materials, we encourage sustainable practices and make art accessible, encouraging children to create wherever they are.

• Monday-Friday (except 4th of July week. Email to register for that week)
• Hours: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Who: Kids Ages 4-11
• Camp Registration: $500 ($535.38 with eventbrite fees)
• Early Registration: $450 ($482.02 with EB fees, before 4/1/25) 
• Single Days available: Weeks 6/2,6/30 & 8/11
• Single Day Registration: $120 per-child (Email to register) 

Camp Schedule:

• Drop off: 8:55 AM (instruction starts promptly at 9:15)
• 9:15-10:15 Instruction & project
• 10:15-10:45 Snack & Break (indoors)
• 10:45-11:45 Instruction & project
• 11:45-1:15 Lunch and outdoor break
• 1:15-2:30 Instruction & project
• 2:30-3 Finish up and clean up 
• Pick up: 3:00 PM (5-minute grace period, then $5 charge for every 3 minutes late) 

Location: Small Steps Art Studio: 6009 Shattuck Ave, Bushrod, Oakland

Indoor/Outdoor Breaks: Indoor snack break in the morning. Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy an outdoor break at nearby Bushrod Park (just across the street) for lunch and play. This break allows kids to recharge and stretch their creative energy.

What to Bring: Please remember to pack lunch, snacks, and water bottles for your child. We want to ensure they stay energized and hydrated throughout the day. 

Dress for a mess! We provide aprons but art can get messy.

Class Sizes: Typically, our class sizes range from 4 to 12 kids. Larger classes have 2 instructors. A minimum of 4 students is required for the class to run. If enrollment is below 4, Small Steps Art Studio will contact you with options, which may include rescheduling or a full refund.

Cancellations: Refunds are available up to 14 days before the start of a session minus $35 admin fee. (Eventbrite fees are non-refundable)

Health and Wellness: If your child is unwell, we kindly ask you to keep them home. There will be no refunds. A make up day or credit may be available(contact us at 510-545-6266)

Class Refunds: In rare cases of cancellation due to staff illness or low enrollment, we’ll issue a full refund (minus eventbrite fees) for the camp or session. A make up class may be available but is not guaranteed.
