Class Description: You will learn how to create a bezel around a central flat-bottomed stone, button or other interesting small object and use additional beading to create a simple pair of bead embroidered earrings or simple bracelet.
You will also learn how to finish your jewelry professionally, and best ways to seal and protect your work.
It is anticipated that students will be able to complete a single project during class.
Techniques taught will include:
-Supplies required-Choosing design for a piece
-Ways to secure your stone or button in preparation to bead
-Basic bead stitches to create bezel around the central stone, securing foundation to backings and how to edge your piece
-Sealing and Preservation of beadwork
Resource list for supplies:
Beads and objects can be supplied from your personal stash or you may purchase a kit for earrings or cuff through the instructor which includes sufficient materials to create a finished piece.
