📅 Week of June 29
📍 Crossroads at Big Creek
A week full of stories, exploration, and hands-on discovery—perfect for families and curious minds of all ages!
🚶 TRAIL TALES
Take a self-guided hike starting at the west trailhead, where a story unfolds along the trail. This week’s featured tale is “Over and Under the Pond” by Kate Messner—read as you wander and explore nature at your own pace.
🔧 TINKERS – Drop in during open hours for ever‑changing, hands‑on, self‑led activities. This week's adventures include:
💦 AR Table
💦 Creek Catch Tank
💦 Scavenger Hunt
📖 TALES – Enjoy our weekly story read aloud on Mondays at 2 PM by Door County Librarian Beth Lokken.
🎤 TALKS – A specialist brings each weekly theme to life on Thursdays at 2 PM. On July 2, take a closer look at the tiny creatures that tell big stories about water quality! Join Gretchen Recupero Schmelzer, a dedicated Water Action Volunteer (WAV), for an eye‑opening exploration of stream macroinvertebrates—the insects, crustaceans, and other small aquatic organisms that live in our creeks.
🌼 JOURNEYS WITH JOAN – Continue summer nature exploration with Naturalist Joan Wilkie, Tuesdays at 1 PM. On June 30, discover the wonders of our amazing Great Lakes fisheries. Suitable for all ages.
There’s something new each week—come often and experience it all! Free and open to the public. Drop in—registration not required.
