One day, five events from which to choose. Join us under the sukkah on the lawn of the Levin JCC to do good, experience good, and fund good.
FITNESS FOR ALL
10-11am | $18 per person (limit 20 people)
Start your day with an upbeat Pound class followed by yogurt parfaits and mimosas. Voted three years in a row as Best Gym in Durham, we are committed to creating a very different health and wellness space, aiding all people, no matter age or abilities, meeting their goals, while fostering life-long friendships. To eliminate barriers to membership we offer a scholarship program. Your support of Sukkah for Good aids in offsetting these expenses.
MUSICAL BRUNCH
11:30am-1pm | $36 per person (limit 18 people)
There is nothing like brunch with friends on a perfect fall day, enjoying music. Music is a signature element to one of our many memory care programs - Musical Memories. It provides a pathway to spark memorable moments in people's lives. These programs are offered at no charge to participants. Your support of Sukkah for Good defrays these costs. Over brunch we will share stories of impact from this remarkable program. Brunch will include gluten-free egg quiche, avocado toast, hash browns, and fresh fruit. The J Café Coffee Bar will be serving coffee and espresso drinks.
SONG SESSION & S'MORES (FAMILY-FRIENDLY)
3-4pm | $18 per family (limit 20 families)
It’s Family Camp in the fall! Enjoy an afternoon song session around the fire pit with a variety of ways to make your own s'mores. Each summer, Camp Shelanu ensures such experiences for campers are available no matter what financial barriers campers may have or disability accommodations campers may need. This impact of Jewish camp is immediate and lasts a lifetime. Your support of Sukkah for Good assists us with these costs.
DINNER UNDER THE STARS
5-7pm | $54 per person (limit 18 people)
Sitting down to a meal with family and friends is a privilege not afforded every one due to food insecurity and financial hardships. Our Food Pantry works to ease these challenge each week by feeding over 50 families. Our approach is unique: not only do we provide pantry staples, but also fresh produce, hygiene products, and connections to other needed resources. Your support of Sukkah for Good feeds a family for a month.
This event features a four-course dinner that will include passed crostini, Caesar salad, pesto salmon with mushroom risotto, and chocolate pot de crème. Between each course, we will package soup seasoning bags and hygiene kits to aid the Food Pantry.
WINE & DESIGN
7:30-9pm | $36 per person (limit 18 people)
Is making art not your thing, but you still like to be creative and unwind with friends? Come join us for an evening of Zentangle with wine, cheese, and chocolates. The Zentangle method of drawing is a process to calm the mind and create art. It’s not doodling, but rather deliberate, abstract artwork that blends together lines and shapes. There are no mistakes in Zentangling.
During the evening we will not only make a design for you to take home, but also a card to send to a senior in our community as part of our Friendly Visitors program. Zentangles is an approach that so reflects the spirit of all the various enrichment and recreation classes we have for children and adults: come as you are and learn something new. And do so at a minimal fee or free of cost. Your support of Sukkah for Good brings a program like this each month to our local community.
