About this Event
Public Health Scotland, as part of Suicide Prevention Scotland, are hosting a series of events in March to share the work underway focusing on Higher Risk Settings & Circumstances (which considers the needs of people who may be at higher risk of suicide because they are living and/or working in higher risk circumstances or settings, or belong to a population group that places them at higher risk). You will have the opportunity to hear from, and connect with, people working in these settings and discuss the challenges they face and what actions they have been taking/could take to prevent suicide. The events will bring people together to share ideas as we further develop this work.
Aims of the event:
- Share our working definition of a higher risk setting/circumstance
- Share the context and background on the work so far
- Share practice (and challenges)
- Highlight support available
- Create an opportunity for people to engage on the topic and shape future work
Who should attend:
If you are working in a sector where you engage with those at higher risk of suicide, or your area of work may have a higher risk of suicide, we would welcome you to come along.
Everyone from statutory services, 3rd sector and beyond are welcome, however as spaces are limited we may prioritise attendance from organisations or sectors where staff or service users are at higher risk of suicide.
Please note tea and coffee will be provided.
