A sensational and one of the most talked about present generation singers of Kirana Gharana, Arshad Ali Khan, is the direct descendant of descends from the family lineage of Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan and Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, the founders of Kirana Gharana. He received education in music from his maternal uncle Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan - famously known as Badshah of Bandishes - and Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan. Introduced by Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata as a child prodigy, he was described as the biggest sensation of Sawai Gandharva Sammelan at the age of 9, following his performance on a special invitation by Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi on the occasion of his 75th birthday.Vidushi Sahana Banerjee is one of the best known lady Sitar players and the true torch-bearer of Rampur-Senia Gharana. She learnt Sitar from a young age from her illustrious father Sitar / Surbahar maestro, Pt. Santosh Banerjee, who was a direct disciple of Ustad Dabir Khan, who himself belonged to the direct lineage of Mian Tansen.
Grammy-nominated artist, Pt Subhen Chatterjee is amongst the best-known tabla players today. Basing his style of playing on Lucknow Gharana which he has learnt from his illustrious guru Tabla legend Pt Swapan Chowdhuri. He has incorporated many other interesting aspects and beauties of other schools of tabla and thus has developed a distinctively unique style.
