Trained in musical traditions steeped in rich and inspiring Sufi and Bhakti heritages, classical vocalist Aarshin Karande will present a unique live music tour through the spiritual music of the Indian subcontinent. A grand disciple of Mewati Gharana legends Pandit Jasraj (vocalist) and Ustad Rais Khan (sitarist), Karande will explore the history and harmonies of Sufism and Bhaktism through specialty classical and light classical music compositions. From ancient padas and medieval taranas to modern bhajans and khayals, "Sufi & Bhakti" offers a one-of-a-kind musical tour through Sufism and Bhaktism and where they beautifully converge, diverge, comingle, and coexist.
