Sue Foley is a multi‑award‑winning blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose Grammy‑nominated One Guitar Woman showcases her fiery Texas‑blues grit and refined fingerstyle technique on both her pink paisley Telecaster and hand‑built flamenco guitar.
Born in Ottawa and performing professionally by 16, she rose to prominence in Austin through Antone’s, touring internationally and sharing stages with legends like B.B. King and Buddy Guy. She’s earned five consecutive Blues Music Awards for Traditional Blues Female Artist, along with a JUNO and the 2024 Maple Blues Lifetime Achievement Award.
A scholar as well as a performer, Foley holds a PhD in Musicology and will publish Guitar Women in 2026, continuing her mission to reclaim and elevate the legacy of female guitar pioneers.
GA‑20 has been leading a traditional blues revival since 2018, channeling the intersection of Blues, Country, and early Rock ’n’ Roll with a raw, song‑driven electric sound. Guitarists Matt Stubbs and Cody Nilsen, along with drummer Josh Kiggans, focus on story, melody, and mood, aiming to bring classic blues energy into the modern roots scene.
Drawing inspiration from icons like Otis Rush, J.B. Lenoir, Howlin’ Wolf, and Hound Dog Taylor, the trio performs with a loose, high‑voltage immediacy. Their vintage instruments, old‑school amps, and live‑off‑the‑floor recording approach give their music an authentic, evolving edge.
