About this Event
Nubian Annual Gala
Join us in person for an unforgettable evening at the Nubian Annual Gala, where we come together to support those impacted by the ongoing war in Sudan. It's a night full of hope, community, and making a real difference. Don't miss out on this chance to connect, celebrate, and contribute to a meaningful cause!
The Nubian Canadian Association extends its sincere gratitude for your continued commitment to humanitarian work and community development. We are writing to bring your attention to several urgent initiatives that directly affect the lives and well-being of thousands of Sudanese people both inside Sudan and abroad.
1. The Water Crisis in the Nubian Region
For many years, communities across the Nubian region have suffered from a critical shortage of clean drinking water. Available water is often contaminated with salts and mineral impurities and stored in deteriorated tanks unfit for human use.
These conditions have contributed to high rates of kidney failure, cancers, and increased pressure on hospitals and dialysis centers.
2. The Impact of the War and Large-Scale Displacement
The ongoing war in Sudan has significantly intensified the crisis. Thousands of families from El-Fashir and other conflict zones have fled to the Northern Region in search of safety, resulting in:
· A dramatic rise in water consumption exceeding system capacity
· Heightened strain on weak healthcare infrastructure
· A worsening humanitarian situation for displaced families
This reality has created an urgent need for clean, safe drinking water for both residents and displaced populations.
3. Expanded Humanitarian Role of the Nubian Canadian Association
In response to these challenges, the Nubian Canadian Association has expanded its efforts to support all Sudanese refugees—inside and outside Sudan.
Our association has:
· Sponsored families and individuals affected by the conflict
· Launched campaigns to provide essential humanitarian services
· Supported refugees with immigration guidance and pathways to Canada
· Helped newcomers with housing, orientation, and community integration
· Offered financial assistance to vulnerable families in need
Our mission is to ensure that displaced Sudanese—whether within Sudan or arriving in Canada—receive the support and dignity they deserve.
4. Project Vision: Water Purification Stations
To address the water crisis, we aim to establish fully equipped water purification stations supported by solar energy to guarantee uninterrupted operation.
The stations will serve key locations throughout the Nubian corridor:
Al-Qold – Dongola – Al-Burgaig – Dalgo – Wadi Halfa – Aswan – New Halfa
5. Importance of the Project
· Ensures access to clean and safe drinking water
· Reduces waterborne and chronic diseases
· Supports displaced families and local residents
· Alleviates pressure on healthcare facilities
· Provides sustainable service through solar energy
6. Estimated Cost: USD 20,000 per purification station
7. Call for Support
We respectfully appeal for your support in these life-saving initiatives. Whether through full sponsorship, partial funding, or any form of assistance, your contribution will have a profound and immediate impact on the lives of thousands.
