SubLunar "Teach Ins" - Historical Tarot and Card of Fortune

You’re invited to join Stacie Noel (The Mermaid Oracle) for a lecture-style show-and-tell exploring the fascinating history of Tarot.

While its exact origins remain a mystery, years of research through books, travel, and study have given me a rich understanding that I’m excited to share with you. We’ll explore the rich history of Italian Tarot—widely considered the birthplace of Tarot cards—before traveling onward to France, the birthplace of cartomancy. This lecture will cover the origins of the suits, how the cards were made, the history of playing cards, their original purposes, notable European decks, and plenty of fascinating facts and stories along the way.

In addition to Tarot decks, we will explore a variety of fortune-telling cards, including Sibilla, Lenormand, traditional playing cards, and the Belline oracle. Stacie will also show examples of how to read with each type of deck.
