The Event Horizon Concert Series presents an evening of live electronic music, set in Philadelphia's beautiful and captivating Rotunda.Under the pseudonym ST∆ER, the work of Ian R. Staer juxtaposes analogue synthesizer textures with spare acoustic piano melodies, conjuring vast aural landscapes from a concise tonal vocabulary: “…a rich, fully formed musical environment we will want to visit over and again.” — Chuck Van Zyl, Stars End Radio
ST∆ER's latest album “Equilibrium”, mixed by Grammy award winner and recent Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails, Tweaker), is currently available at https://staer.bandcamp.com.
Bent Noise (AKA Scott Armstrong) creates glitchy circuit-bent soundscapes using an Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI) and a saxophone case transformed into a Eurorack modular synthesizer system. Obsessed with experimental circuit design and circuit bending, Bent Noise's "Noisy Alien Communicator (NAC)" circuit is documented and illustrated in the science-fiction short-story collections The Noisy Alien Communicator and The Visible Spectrum.
This event is FREE and open to the public, though support for the performers is welcome and encouraged in the form of purchases of CDs and merch, or via direct contributions. Doors open at 7:30PM and performances will begin at 8PM. Artists will be available for meet-and-greet opportunities following their respective stage times.
