is a Prague-based music and art collective operating at the edges of genre—sometimes, half-ironically, described as noise hardcore, post-underground, punk, or witch techno. The group assembles nine musicians and visual artists in a fluid, interdisciplinary formation.

Often appearing in gallery contexts, their shows take the form of open, evolving music-performance situations that blur the boundary between concert, installation, and happening. While occasionally associated with the Czech underground tradition–echoing bands such as The Plastic People of the Universe—the group operates in a distinctly contemporary and self-defined space.

Střešovická Kramle first emerged in Prague in the mid-1980s under the late communist regime, performing at punk shows and alternative venues. Their early activity culminated in the 1986 demo Piloti. Since then, with periods of transformation and pause, the group has evolved into an eclectic music–performance collective, and released two albums: (2017) and (2023). They perform regularly in Czechia and internationally, including in London, Berlin, and Vienna.

Their New York debut takes place as part of the series and is accompanied by an exhibition at the Czech Center gallery.

“Kramle” refers to a metal clamp or fastener; in Czech slang, vzít kramle suggests a quick exit. Střešovice is a Prague neighborhood where founder Václav Girsa grew up, historically associated with guarding the city’s western approach. Together, the name evokes both holding things together and staying alert.

Simon Deschamps and Club Ecology bring together experimental electronic composition, live instrumentation, and poetic performance into a dynamic, genre-blurring set. Deschamps approaches sound as a sculptural material, blending high-energy club forms with visual-art sensibilities. He is joined by multi-instrumentalist and producer Cody Zusman, whose background in classical and jazz cello meets the edge of the NYC music scene, and PJ Hunter, a songwriter and poet exploring abstraction, hybridity, and the interplay between technology and performance.
