Released in 1983, Style Wars documented New York City's graffiti and hip hop culture at a pivotal moment in its development. Featuring writers, breakers, DJs, and MCs from the city's emerging scene, the film remains an important record of the artists and communities that helped shape the movement.
Following the screening, photographer, filmmaker, and co-creator @henrychalfant will participate in a live Q&A discussing the making of the film and its continued relevance more than forty years after its release.
Presented by The American Graffiti Museum. Supported by funding through the NJEDA's A.R.T. - Phase II Grant Program.
