Rechtsanwalt und Familienvater Vinner hat nach dem Aufstehen schlechte Laune. Da ermutigt ihn seine Frau, die Douglas Fairbanks’ Selbsthilfebuch „Laugh and Live“ liest, dem Motto des Filmstars zu folgen: Geh lachend durchs Leben. Gesagt – getan, doch stößt dies auf unterschiedliche Reaktionen und führt zu vielfältigen Verwechslungen. Musikalische Begleitung: M-Cine – Dorothee Haddenbruch (Flügel) & Katharina Stashik (Saxophon).
Ein Filmheld, der sich für die Armen und Schwachen einsetzt und sich den Bösen und Mächtigen mutig entgegenstellt – den verkörpert Douglas Fairbanks in seinem ersten Mantel-und-Degen-Klassiker „Das Zeichen des Zorro“. Der charmante Film machte Fairbanks in seiner Rolle als Don Diego Vega aka Zorro zum Weltstar und gewissermaßen zu DEM Vorbild aller Stummfilmhelden. Die neue 4K-Restaurierung von Photoplay Productions in London erlebt in Bonn ihre internationale Erstaufführung. Musikalische Begleitung: Richard Siedhoff (Flügel) und Frank Bockius (Schlagzeug).

Lawyer and father Vinner wakes up in a bad mood. His wife is currently reading Douglas Fairbanks’ self-help book “Laugh and Live” and encourages her husband to follow the film star’s motto. Vinner does just that - which leads to some mixed reactions and multiple mix-ups. Accompanied by M-Cine – Dorothee Haddenbruch (grand piano) & Katharina Stashik (saxophone).
A movie hero who fights for the poor and the weak against the rich and the mighty - Douglas Fairbanks embodies just that in the classic swashbuckler “The Mark of Zorro”. In his role as Don Diego Vega aka Zorro, this charming film made Fairbanks a global superstar and the role model for all other silent film heroes. The new 4K restoration by Photoplay Productions in London will have its international premiere in Bonn. Accompanied by Richard Siedhoff (grand piano) and Frank Bockius (percussion).
