Please make sure you purchase a copy of "The Everything American Government Book," by Nick Ragone. A limited number of copies of the book, The Everything American Government Book, by Nick Reagan, will be provided free to those in need who wish to take the class.
Local attorney and Fairhaven resident Ellen Nelson will teach this course. Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1985, Ellen practiced law as a courtroom litigator for 25 years, primarily as a solo practitioner in the probate and family courts, with a focus on child protective cases and the rights of people with disabilities. Her work included daily litigation and two cases argued before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Ellen holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from the University of Massachusetts and a Juris Doctor from the Cardozo School of Law in New York. She has taught courses on government and introductory law at community colleges as well as in private settings.
This course will meet over four Saturdays at 10 AM. The first two Saturdays are in January, the remaining classes will be announced, and will take place in February. Registration is required.
