Expand your understanding of geometric abstraction during this studio workshop inspired by artworks on view in Monir Farmanfarmaian: A Mirror Garden. This workshop will begin with a brief visit to the exhibition, where we will look closely at Farmanfarmaian’s drawing techniques and employment of Euclidean geometry. We will then work in the studio to create our own artwork using felt-tip pens, colored pencils, cardboard, colored paper, and ink. Experimenting with line, shape, and composition, we will create unique geometric abstractions that radiate and repeat, echoing the splendor of Farmanfarmaian’s work.Studio Sessions is designed for adults, but all ages are welcome. Materials will be provided. No prior experience is necessary. This workshop is offered twice.
