Join Miami-based fiber artist Aurora Molina for an immersive four-week workshop exploring the artistry and techniques of contemporary fiber art through felting.

In Fiber to Form, participants will discover how fiber can be transformed into expressive works of art while learning foundational felting and fiber construction techniques. Using materials such as felt, thread, and yarn, students will explore texture, color, form, and composition to create an original fiber-based artwork.

This intimate studio experience offers personalized instruction, one-on-one guidance, and individualized feedback tailored to each participant’s skill level and creative goals. Whether you are new to fiber arts or an experienced maker, this workshop will help strengthen your technical skills while encouraging creative exploration and personal expression.

What You’ll Learn

Week 1: Introduction & Concept Development
• Introduction to felting and materials
• Explore inspiration, concepts, and sketching
• Plan your artwork

Week 2: Technique Exploration
• Learn foundational felting methods
• Experiment with free-form construction
• Explore color, texture, and value

Week 3: Building & Refining

Fee is $225 for all four workshops and includes all materails needed.

Artist Bio

Aurora Molina is a Miami-based mixed media and fiber artist whose work reclaims textile processes as powerful forms of contemporary art. Working across embroidery, sculpture, drawing, photography, and video, she uses fiber as both material and metaphor to explore identity, visibility, beauty, and cultural perception.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Molina immigrated to the United States at sixteen. She earned degrees from Miami Dade College, Florida International University, and Universidad Europea de Madrid. She is represented by Bernice Steinbaum Gallery and is the co-founder of FAMA and founder of Red Thread Art Studio.
