Model & Lighting Photography Workshop
Join photographer and educator Sara Abbassi for a hands-on studio photography workshop at Palm Studio in West Palm Beach.
This workshop is designed for photographers who want to practice studio portrait photography, lighting, and posing while photographing a professional model.
You'll rotate through 3 different lighting setups, with Sara demonstrating each setup and explaining how to recreate the look.
WHAT YOU'LL SHOOT
3 Creative Lighting Setups
✦ Setup 1 — Beauty Light
Create clean, flattering portraits using a beauty-focused lighting setup.
✦ Setup 2 — Light & Shadow
Learn how to create dramatic portraits with directional light and intentional shadows.
✦ Setup 3 — Editorial / Creative Light
Experiment with a more dramatic editorial look using creative lighting techniques.
For each setup, you'll learn:
- How to position your light
- How to modify the quality of light
- Camera settings and exposure
- How to position and pose your model
- How to create different looks from the same setup
HANDS-ON SHOOTING
After each demonstration, you'll have time to photograph the model yourself.
Sara will be shooting alongside you and providing real-time guidance on lighting, posing, composition, and camera settings.
This is a great opportunity to build your portrait portfolio while learning how to work confidently in a studio environment.

Prerequisites:
Photographers should have a basic understanding of their camera and how to shoot in manual mode. Camera rentals may be available for an additional fee.
