Student Open Day at Leading Edge - Cumbernauld

Do you have a young person in your life who dreams of a career in aviation? Maybe they would like to become a pilot but aren't completely sure? Our Student Open Day is the perfect opportunity for them to find out more about a life in aviation.Our Student Open Day is for students aged 14 and over, currently in high school or university, who are considering completing their commercial pilot licence. It will give more information about the CPL, along with having the opportunity to sit within one of our fleet and also try out one of our simulators.

Each plane tour is limited to 4 people. During the tour you will find out the basics about the aircraft and have the chance to sit inside. This is an active runway and high-vis vests must be worn at all times. There is an age limit of 14 years and over for this. Food and drink is not permitted.

We shall be offering students the chance to test out flying our simulator. Please note, there is an age limit of 14 years and over for this, and this is only available for students. Food and drink is not permitted within in the flight simulator. There are only 18 slots available and you shall be able to book in on a first come basis.

Important Information:

• Our car park is small, so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to allow for parking. It is illegal to park next to the fence at the border of the airport, so please ensure you park on the opposite side on the grass.
• The runway our planes are situated on is active and there shall be planes moving. Anyone running shall be asked to leave the tour.
• Due to being so close to the runway, it can get noisy. If you or your child are sensitive to noise, please bring ear defenders. We are unable to supply these.Photographs will be taken throughout the day by our team in High Vis.
