Join in the fun as Riverfest hosts the Strut Your Mutt Dog Costume Contest.
Categories:
- Best Super Hero
- Most Creative
- Best Dog/Owner Combination
Judges:
Mayor Pete Bass, Judge Marty Landgrebe, Candlewoof Park President Brian McDonald, and Animal Welfare Society President Diane Saraceni will decide the winners based on costume design, originality, creativity and humor.
Winners of the three categories will compete for the Top Dog Award.
All participants receive goody bags and medals will be awarded to the winners in each category. Contest is limited to the First 50 entrants.
Entry Fees: $15 until 9/30/21; $20 from 10/1 to 10/2 and for same day registration
A portion of the Entry Fee will benefit New Milford's Animal Welfare Society, a non-profit organization. Contestants are also encouraged to make an additional donation or bring an in-kind donation to the event. Items needed: Wet or Dry Dog Food, Collars Leashes, Blankets and Dog Bowls.
Contest Schedule:
Contest Check-In: 2 pm
Line-up: 2:45 pm
Judging: 3 pm
Awards Ceremony to Follow Directly.
Rules:
1. Dogs must be good health and current on all shots and vaccinations - and on a non-retractable leash under owner's control at all times while at Riverfest.
2. Participation limited to paid entrants.
3. Only dogs allowed at this event. Do not bring cats or other animals.
4. Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry to aggressive dogs.
5. You must clean up after your dog.
6. Contest is not limited to New Milford residents.
Water and Pet Waste Bags will be available.
