Conversation Starter: How we do and don't fund bike infrastructure
Strong Towns RVA and VCU are putting on an event (at VCU) about funding bike infrastructure. The program will include short presentations from Arlington County, Henrico County, City of Richmond, and VDOT. We all want a robust network of bike lanes, but nothing’s free. This will be an opportunity for localities to articulate how VDOT could improve its formulas, scoring, prioritization, etc. in order to accommodate a fundamental mode of transportation. And also how (even without VDOT) bike infrastructure is getting funded.
