Our speakers:
Dr. Rebecca Canizares, PT, DPT earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Quinnipiac University in 2018 and began working in the inpatient rehabilitation setting with a focus on individuals with neurological conditions. She then shifted into the home and community based settings helping patients with strokes, spinal cord injuries, and brain injuries. She has a passion for utilizing evidence based treatment interventions including high intensity gait training for the stroke population.
Dr. Kristine Bodine, PT, DPT, NCS is a Minnesota native, though has traversed throughout Midwest and East coast during her studies and early work life. She obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Arcadia University in 2015 and became a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist in 2019. She has experience working with people with neurological conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings. She also has an expertise in seating and mobility. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two little boys, lifting heavy things, and baking macarons.
Dr. Ryan Hafner, MD is a physician who is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (also known as a “physiatrist”) and fellowship trained in interventional spasticity management. He is an expert in designing comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans focused on optimizing long-term function for patients with a variety of neurological diseases such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, focal dystonia, and Parkinson’s disease as well as orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries including joint replacement and contractures. He is also trained in treating cervical dystonia, sialorrhea and facial hemispasm.
Kara Eldridge OTR/L earned her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine and has focused on assisting the neurological population since her graduation in 2017. She has worked exclusively with neurological and traumatic brain injury clients for the last 4 years and specialize in assisting patients to address visual deficits and enjoys encouraging all of her patients to grab life by the horns and continue to ride.
Dr. Han Nguyen, PT, DPT, NCS is a Board-certified neuro specialist in physical therapy & the owner of Neubility Rehabilitation and Wellness. She has experience working with people with neurological conditions in inpatient, home and outpatient settings. She loves to challenge her patients with creative and intensive therapy treatment to maximize their outcomes. She is also an adjunct faculty in the neuro curriculum at Nova Southeastern University Doctor of Physical Therapy program and has been guest speaker on the I love Neuro Podcast talking about intensity in neuro rehab as well as private practice management.
