Prehospital stroke assessment instruments vary widely in the literature, and paramedics learn different tools depending on their educational and employment backgrounds.
This session will be delivered by Stroke Foundation Acute Clinical Projects Manager, Skye Coote. The Stroke Foundation supports clinical education through evidence-based resources, clinical guidelines and targeted initiatives that help health professionals translate evidence into practice.
The session examines how assessment findings and scores relate to the underlying neurovascular pathophysiology and to the likely site of vessel occlusion. It aims to strengthen clinical reasoning in recognising large vessel occlusion and to support consistent, confident assessment for paramedics at all career stages.
Bookings are free for members at paramedics.org/events
