Stride with Pride: Silver Falls Winter Festival & Hike

It's waterfall hiking season! Join Queer Mountaineers for a visit to Siver Falls State Park. The Winter Festival will also be happening which has various crafts, interactive games, and activities. We will decide as a group whether we want to hike the full short loop or just a small portion and have the opportunity to enjoy the festival activities as well. Foods, warm beverages, and snacks are available at the lodge.

Plan to meet at the trailhead at 10:30am and begin hiking by 10:45am. We will hike up to 5 miles with about 900 feet of elevation gain.

We will be hiking rain or shine so please pack for the weather accordingly. The event will only be cancelled if the weather is severe or road/trail conditions seem unsafe. As a reminder, pets and other animals should be left at home unless they are a service animals.

Trail is known for being very wet this time of year with large puddles. Boots, rain jacket, gloves, and trekking poles are strongly recommended.

Gear Needed: Day pack with 10 essentials, hiking shoes with good traction, snacks, 3L of water, warm layers, rain jacket. Trekking poles, rain pants, and a waterproof pack cover are optional, but may be good to have.

Travel Information: The road to the trailhead is rough with lots of potholes. A Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass is required to park at the trailhead. You will receive an email with a link to carpool before the event.
