Stride Out to the Lighthouse

Join a scenic family walk along our beautiful coastline setting off from The Parks Sports Centre in North Shields and ending at St Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.

The coastal route takes you along the Fish Quay, the River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, a long stretch of coastline and the Spanish City Dome before finishing at St Mary's Lighthouse.

This is a six mile walk that can be taken at a leisurely or brisk pace suitable to your own ability.

The walk will be fully marshalled along the way, giving guidance on the route to all.

Please note that this is a plastic/waste free walk and participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to fill up at the water fountains along the route.

The event is free and will support Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (TVLB), with any donations to the charity welcome on the day.

Free coach transport will be available back to The Parks.

Note: the walk will be finished by 2.30pm.
